The world's first two-channel, all-tube amplifier designed specifically for the modern electric violinist. From classical to metal, this amp can do it all.
We designed two unique channels as varied as Ben himself to cover a broad range of sonic landscape. Custom EQ's, useful and intuitive switches, innovative Master Volume circuitry, a transparent effects loop and no negative feedback make for a unique playing experience for the modern violinist.
Channel 1 was designed after we spent hours analyzing the extreme amplifier and post-production settings required to massage a quality violin tone from guitar amplifiers that weren't intended for this purpose. Custom gain staging and EQ circuits were developed to properly emphasize the tone of the violin and it's bow. Controls include Volume, Bass, Middle and Treble controls. Bright and Midshift switches bring added versatility.
Ben pushes the violin out of it's traditional setting of classical and orchestral into the world of fusion, rock and metal. We designed Channel 2 with three gain stages to allow for searing gain that remains musical and in control. Controls include Gain, Bass, our unique "Vari-Q" Midrange circuit (comprised of Middle level, Midsweep and a Midshift switch), Treble, and Volume. A Gain Boost switch adds saturation and a Comp switch adds diode clipping for liquid sustain.
Post-Phase Inverter Master Volumes are heralded for allowing a cranked up tone and feel at manageable volume levels. Often they are found as a modification to classic amps that lacked a Master Volume. Our PPIMV is our take on a classic PPIMV circuit, but with two independent foot-switchable controls for rhythm and lead.
A completely transparent effects loop allows you to place time-based or modulation effects after the preamp where they belong with no detriment to your tone.
A custom-designed Mercury Magnetics power plant is the heart and soul of all of our amps. We use our proprietary power transformer in all of our amps and the output transformer is designed in tandem with each model to accentuate the feel we are after.
We hear it all the time: "Is this thing on?" Noise doesn't have to be part of your tone. We keep a low noise floor in mind from the moment we start designing everything we make. We feel you should focus on your playing your amp, not fighting it.
